Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of VirtualRoom(“VirtualRoom”, “we”, “our”) — a Shopify app that adds an AI virtual room try-on to your store’s product pages. By installing VirtualRoom on your Shopify store you agree to these Terms.

1. What VirtualRoom does

VirtualRoom lets your shoppers upload a photo of their room and renders an AI composite showing your furniture or appliance placed in that room. The composite is generated by a third-party image-to-image model (currently google/nano-banana-pro via Replicate) and is intended as an illustrative preview, not an exact representation of the finished room.

2. Your account & eligibility

VirtualRoom runs as a Shopify app — your eligibility, billing, and cancellation are governed by your Shopify partner agreement and the Shopify Terms of Service. You must own or have authority to install apps on the store you connect.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use VirtualRoom to:

• Generate previews for products you do not have the right to sell or display.
• Submit shopper photos you do not have the right to upload.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or wrap our APIs into a competing app.
• Submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or designed to deceive shoppers.

4. Pricing & billing

VirtualRoom is free to install. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of room previews. If you exceed the included amount, additional previews are billed at the per-preview rate listed on our pricing page. All charges are processed by Shopify on your monthly app bill — we do not store payment cards directly.

5. Shopper data

Shopper-uploaded room photos are stored in our private cloud bucket and are gated by per-browser session. They are auto-pruned after the retention window you configure in the VirtualRoom dashboard (default 7 days). We do not train AI on shopper photos. Full details in the Privacy Policy.

6. Service availability & AI accuracy

VirtualRoom is provided on an “as is” basis. AI composites are approximations: scale, lighting, and material rendering are best-effort and depend on the quality of the shopper’s room photo. We do not guarantee a specific conversion lift, return-rate reduction, or render quality.

7. Intellectual property

You retain rights to your product content (images, copy). We retain rights to the VirtualRoom app code, brand, and dashboard. Each shopper retains rights to the room photo they upload and the AI composite rendered for them; you are granted a limited licence to display those previews back to that shopper inside your store.

8. Termination

You may uninstall VirtualRoom from your Shopify admin at any time. On uninstall, scheduled jobs stop, the widget removes itself from your storefront, and your stored data is purged within 30 days unless we are required to keep it longer for tax or audit obligations.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, VirtualRoom is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app — including lost profits or loss of data. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product and legal landscape evolve. Material changes will be flagged from the dashboard. Continued use of VirtualRoom after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
